The Douglas C-47 Skytrain (designated "Dakota" by the British RAF) was the military adaptation of the DC-3 commercial airliner and served as the backbone of Allied aerial transport during World War II. Aircraft #42-100521, famously named "Night Fright," belonged to the 79th Troop Carrier Squadron.
