POSTE MILITAIRE 90mm

Poste Militaire - History

Poste Militaire was founded in 1975 by Ray Lamb, a highly skilled British sculptor and painter who had already made a name for himself by converting and painting Historex kits in the early 1970s. His passion for historical accuracy and artistic excellence led him to create his own line of figures under the name Poste Militaire, which quickly became synonymous with museum-quality craftsmanship.

Poste Militaire is especially celebrated for its 90mm and 75mm white metal figures, many of which depict iconic military and historical personalities — from Napoleonic cavalrymen to Japanese samurai and medieval warriors. Lamb’s sculpting style emphasized anatomical precision, dynamic poses, and intricate uniform details, setting a new standard in the miniature figure world.

By the 1980s and 1990s, Poste Militaire was widely regarded as one of the finest producers of historical miniatures, with collectors and painters around the globe praising the kits for their elegance and authenticity.

Even today, decades after their original release, these figures are still sought after and revered as benchmark pieces in the hobby.
